Hard time having ECUFlash to connect!

Im having issues with my laptop connecting to ECUFlash. I have ECUFlash unlocker just incase and usually turn it on before I start ECUFlash. Yesterday it took me about 50 tries and close to 20 min to get the laptop to finally connect and read the ECU. Im talking about when you hit the blue ECU Button and you choose EVO IX/Eclipse, then it tells you to turn on the ignition and quickly press ok.

Any idea's? This is with my car sitting for a day or two. I tried running no ECUFlash unlocker, adjust the plug in the diagnostic port, everything! Then it finally connected after 20min of trying!

Thanks!

The Ecu has to warmed up before you can flash it. For some reason it can sense the temperture outside.

How cold is it out there?

Its about 20-30* here in New York. How would I warm up the ecu? Just leave it on the ON position? Im trying to do cold start logs, so I dont want to start the car.
Thanks!

Just throw a charger on battery 2amp charge and do your flash ecuflash is finicky with small voltage drops in your battery. Your voltage drops due to the cold weather.

let the car warm up, go for a long drive and then try flashing.

yeah, It was a low amperage from the battery, so If I logged a cold start then let it sit for 2 min or so and shut it off, it connected perfectly!
