Hi, This is my first time at trying mapping and i seem to be falling at the first hurdle..
I have managed to download the rom from my JDM evo 7 but when i try to select different maps down the left column of ecuflash they are not highlighted. The only one that is available is the imobilizer.

What am i doing wrong?

Not sure which version of ECUFlash you are running or if it will even help but try changing from beginner to developer, shutting down ECUFlash and reopening. Go to the preferences, then under options, metadata, user level, change to developer shut down and reopen. Make sure it still says developer and then check the maps that are visible. I hope this helps you.

Im using 1.29a as 1.35 wouldnt work with my lead.
I know they say using this software is a steep learning curve but just getting it working has been a pain in the ****!

I have a powerbook g4 that works better then any pc i have used but the software doesnt work on it so i have had to try emulators with XP loaded on, then crap old laptops that run at 2mph so i didnt even know if what i was doing would work...

Anyway i downloaded an xml definition decompressed it then pasted it into the folder within ecuflash that stores all the definitions. Which is pretty advanced for me! lol! Then re read the ecu and it just worked!!!!

Thanks for your help. No doubt i will be back in a bit with some more begginer questions...


Just one other thing.- i dont get all the knock filter maps. Is this normal?
