Injectors Scaling

I have recently installed RC 1000cc injectors in my Evo 8 MR.

To start with, I set injectors scaling at 896. Car was very lean on idle, around ~27 and normal on cruising, driving and responded well once I pushed throttle.

To bring idling AFR normal, I decreased scaling to 532 and facing following issue:

When I cold start car, AFR is around ~12, which is rich. Once engine is at normal temperature, AFR goes around 19~20, which is lean. While cruising (around 2500rpm) at constant Throttle position, AFR reads ~14 & when I push throttle a little, it becomes rich again and hits under 10. At this point, engine stops revving up due to being so rich and I can see black smoke from exhaust.

Is there any issue with injectors, scaling or something else? I have checked all boost, vacuum, exhaust pipes and everything's fine.
In fuel map, AFR is set at 14.7 whereas idling is not near these numbers.
I can take scaling back but idling gets too lean. How to figure out the leaning problem at idle?

P.S I changed intake pipe with a bigger one and removed blow pipe & factory boost solenoid pipe (running AVCR now) whereas stock BOV is intact.

Any help around???

Thanks.

What are your latencies? If you aren't changing the latencies, this is your issue.

I am using mitsulogger software and I cannot find any latencies coloumn there. Only Injector scaling is written.
Where to set latencies and what figures will work?
I have found this one:
Injector battery voltage latency ---- ms
4.69 --- 3.312
7.03 --- 2.016
9.38 --- 1.08
11.72 --- 0.648
14.06 --- 0.36
16.41 --- 0.192
18.68 --- 0.048

Do I need to change these? If yes, then what figures?

Thanks.

Yes, some of those latencies are lower than stock.

Try this to start

(thank nj1266 for posting these base RC1000cc)

Yeah, I just happened to try the exact same thing with a friends car, and I finally nailed it down after he told me that his Turbo outlet gasket was 90% MIA. Make sure to check for any and all boost leaks because if you have one, you will run into the same situation I did: I had RC1000's scaled to 609 to get it to run right because of the amount of air that "un-gasketed" joint was sucking in.

Make sure you have ZERO leaks before scaling them, especially because if you have no leaks when you scale the injectors, you can monitor your fuel trims and with 95% certainty, tell when you have a boost leak when your trims go nutty.

I just had the exact same situation you had, and scaling big injectors is very difficult with a boost leak. (Duh..)
