good enough for me. im going to do this after i get the car through inspection. i dont know if removing all that and canceling more codes will make me not pass. so im going to do this after i pass.

mind posting some pics of what you removed under the hood. i had no clue there was evap stuff under the hood. haah.

and when it is all being removed we have to leave all the sensors and solenoids still plugged in right?

dan - just read up on this thread again, I have aleaady posted pics!

Cliff notes:

- asmodeous unplugged lines and kept solenoids plugged in and no check engine light. He is yet to pull EVAP can in the back.

- dudical pulled all solenoids and lines out and got CEL's, so he did the periphery mod to turn the CEL off...

Thats great news that the periphery will fix it all. Too bad my car won't be together for another 2 months....I also did the FPR mod Asmodeous mentioned and wil try that to see what happens...
What mod....are you talking about crushing it increase fuel pressure.

Asmodeous said he unplugged lines to the FPR solenoid on the side of the manifold, left it plugged in and no CEL. I was wondering if you did that too as well...

Why would you do that? I just left it connected. From my knowledge that solenoid has nothing to do with emissions but rather in controlling fuel pressure.

What is the benifit in disconnecting that?

I will have to take a look at my car when I get home tonight and check that I didn't do anything with that solenoid.

I think it is there because it stops the FPR from decreasing fuel pressure under vacuum

It does what you mentioned sortof, but only in situations where extreme atmospheric changes are at play. Such as high elevation.

So to me who lives at 1000ft - and it never really changes. IDC. It goes away.
I don't need it.

So you unplugged the boost lines from it, but it left it plugged into the wire harness?

Dudi - Thats what Dustin did to all of the solenoids - he left them plugged in electrically, but disconnected and removed all vaccum lines, hard lines etc - except the can in the rear which he has not gotten to yet. Oddly, he did not get any CEL's which is different from your experience.

But that should answer your question from how I understood Dustin... Hope this helps!

I can't imagine why you would do that.

Disable all the emission stuff but not remove it. The only reason to take that stuff out is weight savings. If you not taking it out that just seems silly.

Especially for the FPR solenoid, that actually has a use beyond emissions and you disable it but leave it sitting in the car.

Seems pointless.

I think his experience allows for CEL's not to pop-up, thats why.

Personally, I want to take it all out and have it all out currently sitting in a pile. It will be about 2 months before I get the car all buttoned up and will need to mess with the flash then. It has some sort of vishnu flash in it I need gone and have a TTP/Jestr or Mellon flash put in place for my setup and then get it tuned by AMS in IL. I am sure I will be posting up bugging people then. again.

I say if your gonna disconnect anything then just pull the whole thing out of the car so that you get the benifit of saving weight, but then again I am crazy when it comes to weight reuction, lol.
