Noob confused about ecu tuning

Hey there this is my 1st post. i keep hearing about how the evo's ecu is extremely tuneable. i was wondering just how simple tuning can be on the car. are there base maps i can just download and install w/o extra tuning? i was wondering if it was like my zx10rs power commander where i can just download a map, and send it via usb to the computer and have the ability if i want to to tune it more. i have read some of the posts here for ppl wanting to tune but a lot of wut i see is very complicated about full on tuning. how difficult is it for me to get a new flash for my stock w/tbe 04 evo that i can just plug in and drive? thanks

What your describing is the access port which is a device to upload a map to the computer without you being able to actually control what it will do.

EcuFlash is the opposite it lets you tune EVERYTHING and that's both good and dangerous. It downloads the map from the car lets you tweak them then upload.

If you want a map done for you with Ecuflash then you can have a tuner like Mellon, Jester, and many others send you a modified version of your origional map for a price.
