noob question about immobilizer

I have ecuflash, and evoscan loaded on my laptop, have my wideband wired up and have a tratrix cable in my possession. I want to start logging so runs and what not. I see I have to save my present rom on my computer with ecuflash, and have to write down my immobilizer code. Where do I find this code. I havent even hooked my laptop up to my car because I am scared from reading all the post about people forgetting to write the code down and their car not starting. Is there a tab in ecuflash that shows the code?

slvevo8, you will not cause a problem by just doing the download. Pull the ROM disconnect from the car and look through the software a bit. This way you can look around without worries that you will cause problems. What year is your Evo?

Here is a picture of the immobilizer area on my ROM / Ecuflash 1.38.

I have no clue about any of this ecuflash and evoscan stuff, I am just getting into it. I have friends who have logging and tuning expeiance that will help me, but they do not know this software, they are more familiar with aem and fast.

All you have to do is save a copy of YOUR stock rom. I save mine in multiple computers just to be safe. If you are going to be tuning off your own map, you wont have to worry about it. If you flash SOMEONE ELSES map into your car, then thats when you need to change the immobilizer code on their map to yours.
