Openport 2.0 hardware failure

well i was helping a friend of mine log his car and we were using the openport 2.0. when we went to put in the cable to the OBD2 port the mini USB connection on the unit itself broke completely off and started rattling inside the plastic case. Has anyone else had this problem?

I haven't had that problem... but I was wondering how you were logging using the openport 2.0 cable?

Unfortunately I had broken one during beta testing. They are aware of this being a potential problem. My solution was to put a 90 degree angle USB elbow adapter on it from my Motorola Razor phone to route the cable off to the side and not risk getting struck. Just make sure to remove the cable before handling the openport itself so you don't risk striking it.

Good to hear that colby has updated the openport 2 to stop this happening now.

Just waiting for a reply from him, as i've not heard anything yet.

I use a swivel USB connector that comes with Cobb AP's. Works well if you bump it, it swivels instead of breaking.

My Rev C Openport 2.0 stopped working the other day. For an unknown reason it just won't flash no more. It still logs though, very very strange and annoying. Anyone know if there is a warranty with this thing or had a faulty unit replaced, its only 6 months old!

ok i sent the faulty 2.0rev c back to tactrix as they said it was probably hardware failure, 5 weeks later they sent me back a new one.

has anyone had one stop working on them? mine only stopped flashing, the read/logging side worked tho.
