Opening an EvoScan Cable

I just got my hands on the evoscan cable for logging/actuating ABS/AYC components and forgot to specify no pin 9. I know I can just cut it, but I'm actually curious to use it sometime for flashing a subie if I get a chance.

I know how to fit a small switch in there, but before I go breaking things I wanted to ask if getting the head of the OBDII connector off was as simple as splitting in half (it is slightly separated already) and snapping back together when done, or if there were some 1-time use connectors/adhesive/etc on the inside that will make it suck if I try to put it back together.

Thanks!
