Factory immobliser

Right so I have just flashed an FQ360 Rom on to my EDM E9, copied over the immobiliser codes etc and then made the periphery 0 mod to get it to start. The car starts with any key (coded or uncoded).

Now I wanted the factory immobliser to work so I then did the bit 9 mod (FAA) immobiliser hex and changed the periphery 0 back to match my old rom. Car will start with any key BUT with the uncoded key will only run for a second before cutting out. Otherwise the car goes very well.

Now what I need to know is, is this how the factory immobiliser works (i.e. letting it start then cutting out)? It is shutting the car off so would seem right, but just wanted to check.

The car has an aftermarket alarm with 3 way immobilisation which stops the car from starting at all when on and all testing was done with the alarm disarmed.

Cheers,

John
