Back to stock?

After finally getting a chance to check out my ecu, it seems the previous owner had a horrible tune or he removed some aftermarket parts and didn't have it retuned before he sold it (I noticed the UICP was threaded for meth or similar).

I was considering upgrading my rom (94170008) to 0015 w/ tephra mod or similar and am wondering if it would be better just to use the stock basemaps instead of copying mine over?

With just 255/tbe/fmic/hks272s installed, would going back to stock maps reduce some of the knock so that I can get it properly tuned? The knock is to the point where I dont even want to drive it anymore let alone WOT log pulls. I know it will probably run crappy but if it helps the knock...

I also have a ix turbo/manifold/uicp/licp/dp/wideband ready to be installed and dont know if the car will even be able to do a log pull with those mods using the stock map?

Any suggestions? (meant to post this in general)

This was a 3rd gear pull @21 on 93oct

I can lend you my basemap for the 96420008 for a stock 04 RS the timing and fuel should be really really close to stock for you car if not exact.

Honestly I saw knock with a completely stock map though on the crappy 91 octane we have here.

Depends on the level of mods really

Stock was 18psi dropping down into 16psi by redline.

I think my first tune was 20psi with stock everything minus a TBE which was quite fun. After awhile i got a fuel pump and a MBC and got the boost to 23psi easily. Shortly after an addition of an intake and cams and 880's had me in the 24-25psi range on the stock turbo.

Lately it was 25-26psi on a red with a large FMIC but I currently have it scaled way back to 21psi becuase I'm running with e85 on 880's which is not enough :P

holy crap thats rich

I could probably set you up close with 11.0 10.8 AFR and a mild tune. Run at your own risk though thought i can't imagine it would go boom since it worked well on 91 octane.
