i've read that some people are able to log for a while.. then suddenly not. i'm told that it helps to plug the usb cable into the SAME usb port each time so your settings don't change. does this make sense to anyone? does a computer change the settings when you plug it into a new usb port? kinda makes sense.
Most XP (and probably Vista) machines create a different virtual com-port when you plug into the different USB ports. This is actually a good thing in theory, but also keeps some people confused.

The manual for the UEGO specifies the COM transfer settings. If they aren't correct, it doesn't know how to properly communicate.

I finally got mine up and running perfectly with the help of some members here. I'm running Vista 32 bit, evoscan 2.6 with the 2.7beta download found in the evoscan/gps thread (page 56/57 i think), using the usb-serial cable from limitless. Obviously using the adapter sold by one the members on the forum( Fast Freddie). This was the only way I could get mine to log without the "freeze". On a side note, finally got map tracer to work also. WBD logging plus maptracer= ultimate fine tune. It's so nice to finally have everything working in harmony and logging all aspects of the vehicle. Talk about hours and hours of dealing with this and that- finally resolved. Tuning is fun, interesting, etc but when something isn't working correctly- PITA and very frustrating.

i need help.

i thought i had everything sorted out after a long battle.

but basically, i just cant log with v2.5 or v2.7b5 anymore. not on xp or vista.

ive tried swapping out serial cables but it'll only work a few times and then nothing. with v2.5 it'll stop logging all together if i try to log WB.

with v2.7b5, which everyone says it's fixed the UEGO issues, it gives me a reading of 0. i thought i found a bug with hot keys to get it working. but it doesnt seem to work for me anymore.

has anyone been able to log WB without the serial cable with this UEGO unit? if so, show me how or link me to it please.

if your connection is ok with hyperterminal, you will see numbers like 14.7 or 14,7
. and , are the decimal separators, you need to have the same on your computer (language options), and Evoscan..

I am having the same issue, i can not log my aem uego using windows xp, evoscan v2.6. I am going to try the 2.5v but did anyone figure out how to use it on v2.6.
I am using the radio shack gigaware usb-serial connector and it logs for a few seconds then freezes.
Does the cable from tactrix work for sure?

2.6 is really buggy with logging WBO2s... try 2.5 or upgrade to 2.7...

hi all!!! I'm having some problems to log my aem uego... the evoscan starts to log but a few seconds later it freezes on the last reading...

I have now the prolific drivers, recently I bought another cable, installed the drivers on the cd but that s#!... don't works and the new cable it's using the prolific drivers...

I have opened the hyperterminal and everything works fine on it... it shows the data eternally and never freezes... I'm using the 2.6 evoscan...

anyone had the same problem and make it work???
