For those who have problems logging wideband signal with Serial-USB cable
I installed a Zeitronix ZT-2 wideband A/F meter couple of weeks ago, and I tried to log AFR with other ECU parameters through openport Tactrix cable.
I got a serial-to-USB cable so that I can connect ZT-2 to my IBM T43 laptop which does not have a serial port.
Because the serial-to-USB cable I bought was using FTDI chips which have the same vendor ID with Tactrix cable and they were using the same drivers.
(Not all FTDI chips have this collision problem, but if it has the same vendor ID as the Tactrix cable, then it can cause problems.)
I contacted the tech support of the cable manufacturer, and I tried to uninstall all the drivers and reinstalled them several times, but didn't work.
I got a PCMCIA-to-serial adaptor, and everything works fine now! (Anything other than serial-to-USB should work!)
I hope this helps who have similar problems or who are considering a serial-to-USB cable.
