I didn't know the evo one was a dumb 2 port, it's hard to see it very well where it's mounted. Still they should be easy to find and cheap from a DSM as they're on 1G's and 2G's.

1g's don't have 3 port solenoids. But all turbo 2g's did and i made my own plug and play harness to use it with my setup.

Nope but it's just a MAC valve so I would imagine it would be like a MAC valve.

Ours is actually a custom valve made specifically for us. Our engineer had to sit down with mac and work out the details of the valve. Our unit is also plug & play and mounting brackets are included with the solenoid. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

So what did you do different to make it different than the other MAC valves (35A) on the market (other than the mounting bracket and plug) ?

I like the pierburg the most. I had to install one for a customer (I do not do installs as a rule) and it was so easy to do. Plug and play is the way to go. No splicing into the stock harness needed. Had the GM 3-port had a PnP harness, It would be the one to recommend.

So why dont we just start trying to source these?? Does anybody have a part # and a list price? Can anyone get one to GST for testing? Or is it not worth it?

To me it seems like it might be a another good solution. If someone wants to sale one to me for a reasonable price, Ill buy it and send it to GST & MRFRED (if they are down) to test it.

"We are not trying to hide the fact that MAC makes the valve for us. We chose MAC because they are the best. But our valve differs from the ones found in an industrial catalog even if they share the same housing. The valve is made specifically for us. We spec'd it to work properly with the EVO ECU (correct impedence of the coil, and response time). It also uses seal materials that are compatible with synthetic motor oils. (if there is ever blowby). Lastly, we worked with MAC on a coil that can handle the vibrations and temperatures found inside an engine bay.

People also like the fact they can plug it in, bolt it up and tune. You don't have to worry about soldering resistors in line, fabricating your own bracket, or splicing into your factory wiring. It's a great product and I am sure you will be happy with it.

GrimmSpeed please post some hardcore data and test results or even better if you know of any evos with your solenoid. I'm not doubting the product cause MAP sells it I'm just trying to get the best product to work with.
