installing a GM 3-bar MAP sensor

installing a GM 3-bar MAP sensor
i've been searching ALL day... can someone tell me how to install this thing? wait.. i know how to splice it in.. i just need to know what changed to make to my ROM so that the ECU will read it correctly.
is there scaling? a box to check?
as for logging with evoscan, i'm told to enter:
x*0.17886+0.161-14.5 (<-adjust to read "0" with key on) into the "jdmmap" logging section.
i know this has been covered 100 times.. but my searches bring up a bunch of 50-page threads and the info is probably in ONE of the posts.. somewhere. i honestly don't have enough time in a day to read a bazillion pages to find one post.
