high timing during cruise that i cant change.

hey.. i was just trying to get my fuel trims closer to 0 and while logging i noticed that the map timing and actual timing hit 44degs. between 2.5k-3.5k (thats where my car drives a little wierd) so ive fixed this prob before. disable the egr in faa bit11. now the consequence is i have a crap *** rich start up..and the car stumbles and all. my question is... has anyone noticed this? i tryed lowering cruise timing to 35degs it still peaked at 44 with the faa bit 11 enable (factory). why is my map timing sayin that its 44 when it should actualy be 35? is there another map that may be connected to the egr bit or somthing? i just cant understand it...
by the way im running 9417 on my 2g eclipse...
thnks in advance.

I have the same romid.xml on my evo 8. I have the same exact simptoms you are describing.

I chased knock in the timing range you are describing, and get that from high timing. I found that some of the code I was utilizing was not as clean as wanted, and had multiple addresses for the same table defined in the ECUFlash folder.

Check your xml.s for issues. I do have a clean copy if you are infact refering to the 94170015.xml with the evo7base.xml.

Let me know. My knock did clean up, by fixing the code in my ECU. So might work for you. Just a sug.

Good to know, I have EGR disabled, and the only symptoms still showing up are the rich starts, warm weather, cold weather, etc. Still can't get them solved. The periphery bit for EGR is disabled, and there is a location in Appauldds rom that is called EGRSystem Enable and Disable. Do all of the codes from his xml's work for you? So you are infact utilizing his 94170015.xml, his evo7base.xml, and the evo7base_208xxxxx.xml? I beleive to get the tables to work it requires all three, though i couldn't get a combination completed to get all the tables that are in the files to show up. Either way, good to know your covered, just trying to offer some assistance.

fully defined xml...
You are correct that applaud put this together, we did cover this in the thread about the fully defined ROM. The conclusion was it doesn't exist yet. This was 2nd gen evo8 rom. They changed things in the 3 revisions after that rom. YEs we both scoured the threads for code. No body is denying that it is his xml originally or passed on like suggested, but it is NOT fully defined.

Just a clarification, not a challenge.
Good luck to the OP.
