Mapping with new cams??
Mapping with new cams??
Was on the rollers yesterday, and was happy with the power I made, but wanting more torque, so I have been thinking of a new set of cams.
I have done a little map tweaking on my car already, but using the Rallart map as my base map.
When fitting new cams and mapping to suit, is it just the same as mapping normally, or is there anything else I should check?
Normally when mapping a stock engine it's usually knock & AFR to look out for (along with logging other things), but when mapping cams to suit, what else should be checked in order to know when you have dialed them in properly?
Cheers!
Dyno graphs....

Also, think I might have a sticking actuator, because boost peaked at 1.44 bar then dropped to 1.03 bar even tho I havn't played with boost, so will get that sorted before doing cams.

Herman,
Things stay the same just as always. Some things you might see are an increased likelihood of knock at the same boost level at a given rpm, fueling will change (typically need to be richened up), and depending on the size of the cams maybe a loss of torque down low.
