ok. is 13 your 1/4 mile time? and what bugs do you have? what roms are you using now? switching to v7 wouldn't necessarily be easier but you would need to have patience.... trust me.. and also what have you changed on you current rom so far? logs of problem areas/events would help.
By 13, he means 96940013. adcgn45, see your other thread: you should be able to load up your existing ROM and make changes to it without having to jump into ROM swapping right away. That being said, if you're feeling up to it, tephra 9653xxx6 v7 has some very nice functional improvements.
adcgn45,
Keep it real simple. All you need to do to test the Tephra V7 96530706 ROM on your EVO is to change the immobilizer code. Period.
I simply changed ONLY the immobilizer code in the 96530706 ROM and flashed it. My '03 EVO started right up, idled pretty well, and I even drove a few blocks to the shopping center and back. And that is with 1,000cc injectors running on E85. Obviously, I stayed out of boost, but the car did run surprisingly well with NO changes to any settings in the ROM whatsoever.
After I had proven that the ROM would in fact work in my car, only then did I copy over my injector settings, fuel map, and timing map. I changed nothing else. Then I test drove the car again. In fact I drove it for several days.
Then I proceeded to address the issues that were of concern to me, documented in this post.
Start simple. Make as few changes as possible. Flash and test. Then make a few more changes. Repeat. If you change everything in a new ROM all at once and then have a hiccup, it can be much more challenging to sort it all out.
