There isn't too much you can do with the boost on the stock turbo. You're simply approaching it's limit on the top end. I think you're fine where you're at in terms of boost.

As far as cams, I would recommend going with the S2s right away.

Thanks l2r99gst. The reason I'm sticking with the S1s is because I can keep the stock springs. I will stay on the Evo IX turbo for as long as I can, so the S1 should be good enough. I only DD my car so the extra mid range power is what I'm looking for, over top end power.

I ordered the s1s today and hopefully I will be able to break 280 whp. I will keep everyone posted.

Yeah, I don't think you will have a problem with that goal.

Have you considered switching to E85? We have it all over the place here and well worth the effort. I also daily drive my car and I am running 30+ psi daily. I don't think I will ever go back to 93 again.

I have. You live a bit more south then I do and e85 stations are common in your area from what i remember. I'm close to AMS and the closest e85 station is 12 miles away and the second one is about 18 miles. Not very convinent. Once they start getting more e85 by me I'm definetly in.

What?? Only 12 and 18 miles away?? Nearest for me is about 90-100 miles. If I had it as close as you do, Id be all over it.

^ LOL. The Evo is my DD, I use it to run errands all the time and get to work and back. I don't want to be tied down to only couple gas stations Maybe next year.

Yeah I have E85 every couple minutes by me. : ) Every Gas City has it, which are all over the suburbs around here.

But, also, keep in mind that you can use map switching to easily switch back and forth. But, it looks like you are doing a good job on pump gas, so you should be fine for now.

Switch out the stock boost solenoid for the GM 3-port solenoid. Very easy mod and works well with the ecu psi-based boost control

Dam, I'm getting irritated now. Went to do some runs today and eather the run is great or I hit 7-10 counts of knock out of no where. Example:

Any ideas?

Take out some fuel to about 11.4-6:1 a/f. Then Smooth your fuel map so it's like butter using the smoothing program...post up a pic of your graph "ALT-G"...

Your VDR shows a nice dip in power and torque around 4000-4500(4250 to be exact)...reduce your spool timing drastically and then gradually build up. Smoother maps = less knock.

Being too rich will cause knock also.

You are hitting higher load cells than before. You might want to tune out the rest of your tables. some "blocking" may be necessary.

I have never tuned an evo that had a "smooth" fuel table. aside from interpolation across the map smoothing always caused inconsistent fuel curve.

Second part is untrue. I make boost as fast as possible and have never had issue with high ramp in boost. not sure why you would want to make boost slower...

^ so your fuel maps are jagged? My tunes are spot on with smoothing and the car also drives better.

2nd part. Low timing to start then at peak torque thats ramp should have already began.

You probably think the dip is ok.

Just when I thought I understood this....

Is "blocking" when you see the same number of timing in couple different Load cells in the same RPM range? Example 6k rpm at Load 240=10 ; 260=9 ; 280=8.

Making all those 3 load cells 9 would be considered "blocking"?
