Close down ecuflash. Run ecu unlocker then open ecuflash again and try to read the ecu

By the way, should the acd light flash when the cable is connected?

Yes, some cables cause the lights to flash when they are plugged in. Did you recently upgrade to Ecuflash 1.42? Were you ever able to connect with your cable?

When you connect the cable, only connect it to your laptop first, before you connect it to the car. You will see it recognize the cable as a usb device, and it should say it's installing drivers. Check in your device manager when the cable is plugged in, and see if the computer sees the cable. If it's showing the yellow exclamation mark near it, the drivers didn't load for the cable correctly.

fyi..I had major connection issues with my cable after upgrading to 1.42...to the point I had to buy a new cable.

When are you turning your ignition ON? Before pressing"Read" button, or after? Do it in the right sequence, as table appears and asks you to turn ON ignition.

Is your battery well charged?

If nothing helps, you should get another laptop and do a fresh ecuflash install. Firstly you install ecuflash, then plug in openport cable.
