ideas on dip in power

Hi All
I've had a look at a friends evo and they have a dip in the power and torque between 6000-7000 rpm, the car is a standard evo 7 fq300 with stage one mods. Here a VDR of what i'm on about (the dashed line). I've seen this a few times on cars I haven't mapped also just wondering what to look for to find out why it happens.

I've also attached the log from the run for any suggestions would be welcomed, I'll be looking at it further on sunday night. I know the AFR could be smoother at the top end (next thing to address) but would that make such a big drop? As you can see there isn't any knock detected either?

Will reducing the timing help here, as you can see from the log that it starts to raise again?

Cheers
Andy

Is leans Spool enabled? I ask because the cutoff for it is in that region. If you have it enabled, raise the cutoff to match your redline setting.

you know what mite do it as well... not being on a straight road. if its had a curve that came up around that rpm the power steering will cause your whp to decrease.. it happened to me.. so if the road isnt straight then thats the problem other that that i realy dont see anything in the log that will make it dip from 6k-6.5k rpm.

lean spool is enabled but the values are set too start 500 and finish to 530rpm, is it worth setting these to 2500 to 7500? It was set low so that the map would be consistant.

the road is pretty straight also, and fairly flat.

thanks Andy

just to let you all know that I managed to sort this, just required a bit more tweaking on the map, mainly smoothing the afr a little bit more, but this is what we have now. As you can see the power and torque are now keep climbing.
