ECUFLASH issues

I went to tune my car cause the afr was in the 10.8-11 area and the ecu kept timing out when i went to flash it.... anyone ever had a issue where the car runs great, and everything works but the ecu wont flash? I ordered a new 1.3u cable hoping its just the cable, but could it be the ecu as well? when we flash the ecu's it writes directly to the eprom doesn't it? or does it trigger something else that allows write access to the eprom first?

Thanks

Ecu could be locked try the unlocker program.

The white plug could be malfunctioning as well.

see if the ground wire (the clear connector) has some connectivity issues.

Was there 2 different versions of the 1.3u cable produced? My new cable seems rather buggy. It keeps flashing the Anti Lock light and then sometimes it never connects to evoscan. Im going to get an exchange and see if the problem persists, but let me know RoadSpike. My old cable still datalogs, but it gets extremely hot at the OBD2 port, so i know it has a short in it.

I do remember hearing something about the ground strap on a certain 1.3 cable that was causing what you described not sure really because I don't have Antilock i can't confirm.

Search in this subforum for antilock flashing and the cable should be a thread with it somewhere

My 2.0 cable flashes the anti-lock when I am at idle and the car is not moving. I think it does this so you know that Evoscan is logging. That is the only time mine flashes.

ya i figured that out. its annoying tho, my other 1.3 cable didnt do that, so maybe theres a way to stop it from doing that. I sent my 1.3u cable back because it was having weird sync up issues, so hopefully the replacement is fine. do these cables have any issues with heat? I ussually keep mine plugged in 24/7 in the car, but it seems the heat might be effecting it?

Unlikely I live in Sacramento and day temps here can hit 100+ easily and I've never had an issue with it. In car temps probably reach into the 140's. The cable has been stored in my glove box for many years .

Idk, sometimes I leave it plugged in my obd port and it will get pretty hot when I'm driving around...
