flashed V7... car will not start

I really hate asking this because I know the answer is out there, I just can't find it. I've gone though all the threads I could but either over looked it or just plain failed.

Went to flash tephra Mod V7 on my 2003 USDM evo and it will not start. Reflash the stock map and it starts up. Is there anything other then the immobilizer that has to be changed?

Im tyring to use 96530706.

Thanks...

The only thing I have changed was under Misc... Immobilizer... hex... AA40.

Is there something else I need to change as well?

I feel like such an idiot for asking this, but I have yet to find some kind of basic how to guide that starts from square one for doing this stuff.

Try to remove the base xml files and all other xml files from the rommetadata folder and save them to the desktop so you dont lose them. Only put the V7 xml in the rommetadata folder and reflash the car. You might have conflicting base files.

change the imo hex to one of the following that matches your car
enter it how its written
usdm
0x0040 for a 03'
0x0055 for a 04'
0x0058 for a 05'
0x004D for a and EDM
also check that you FAA bit .3 (in mines it labeled bit .2 but should be bit .3 ) enable immobilizer is set to " 0 "

if that doesnt work lmk

You have 3 things to alter to remove immo :

- Immobilizer
- Immobilizer Hex (depends on ecu type/year see above)
- FAA bit

Ok, this is what im talking about. I know I am suppose to do this...I've read it. But unlike other things, there is zero mention on where this is copied from and added to. Do I do this through an XML editor or is it through ecu flash? Maybe its so simple that no mention is needed.... either way can you kick me in the right direction?

I don't know, maybe I missed some all important thread that shows where to start from. I'm an ASE master tech, BMW level 1 diag tech... so I'm not a total retard when it come to cars. Give me instructions and it will get done.

^ I think it would be helpful to post a screenshot of the settings you are using for the immob hex etc, you might get a better response.
