New turbo big knock

Ive just upgraded the turbo on my jdm 8 to the old fp green. I took it out for a short drive just to check for leaks and to check how much the tune was out by. No WOT as i could already see some early counts of knock and didn't want to push it. I'm 3 hrs from the closest tuner and i'd like to atleast get the knock out so i can drive it safely and then consider a dyno tune. It's not a daily so i;m just taking things slow.
JDM 8
98 AUS fuel
tbe
silicon intake
mr metal bov
greddy profec set at 22psi
licp with cast turbo outlet
aem wideband
560cc injectors ( i have some bigger ones ready to go in)
fp green
etc
boost leak test showed the usual tb leak (milspec seals on the way) otherwise no leaks

Ive attached logs before and after the turbo upgrade. You will notice in the middle of the green log(sorry it's so long) knock of 26 counts (4th gear) which is to be expected with the increased airflow from the green. Unfortunately i don't have the 2byte mod sorted in these logs i think ive got the mut address's sorted for 2byte now but haven't done a run since.

Am i right in saying my AFR's look fine and i just need to do some serious tweaking of my timing ?

I can't tell whats going on in that log, except for the knock... don't get into boost and get it tuned ASAP before you do some serious damage...

Hopefully i can get it to a tuner in the next couple of weeks. Until then it can stay in the garage while i sort out a few other things.

How will the tuner start the retune out of interest? with basic mods you can play with the fuel to get the afr right and then continue to add timing til you find a small amount of knock then bring it back a bit. But with a new large turbo you can't really run it up on the dyno WOT then tune out the knock because chances are youve just blown your motor.

You have to get the 2byte load sorted out before messing with the tune much further. They way a good amount of tuners do it is they have a VERY conservative base map that they will flash that is all smoothed out, then customize it to your car.

That is a crap ton of knock. Once you get the load figured out then pull at least 5* in the cell in which it is corresponding then smooth out the adjacent timing cells.

I have been messing around with things like this on my car for a little while and would help you out. If you get the logs to include 2byte load then just PM me and send me your ROM and ill take a look.

Have you ever tuned your car before?

from my experience, the 03-04 evo 8's have a overly sensitive knock sensor that likes to pick up spool noise and various other things. I usually try to see if its true knock by reducing timing by 2-3* increments and see if there is any change. If there is none, then its usually noise interferrence. You can raise your knock load sensitivity slightly in the lower RPM ranges to avoid some of this spool knock. DO NOT max the table, as it wont catch real knock if it does occur.

Thanks for the replies. After talking to a few people and doing a fair bit of reading i decided to have a crack at it today. First step was to move my wideband so it didnt block the cel light which is why i didnt back off ealier in my first log. Ive pulled timing in all my problem areas and I'm now managing to do 3rd and 4th gear pulls WOT with only a couple of counts of 2 along the way. injector duty is getting a bit scary at the top end.

Ive still got a long way to go, at this stage ive gained no real power on the stock turbo and torque is coming on quite late and the graph seems very linear but so does my stock one. I may need to play with the profec B and try and get peak boost earlier and then work on the timing a bit more and leaning out the top end which is a bit rich.
