just load your rom up and scroll down to periphery0 (FAA) Bits

and open it then set bit3 to 0 to enable the immobilizer disabling. (4th one up from the last)

by default it will be set to 1 of course. (immobilizer enabled)

I have a question, I've followed that link for the directions to add the periphery bits, but it won't let me save it on the evo7base. Is says that the file directory doesn't match. Am I missing something? I have tried the FFFF or 0xffff to disable it, but the g still won't start, now I can plug the stock ecu in, and it fires up fine. I even metered the conversion harness to make sure everything was connected, and it is. This is what I do, I open this up with note pad, C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo\ evo7base.xml
copy and pasted the tables for the periphery bits into there but it will not save it at all, I have even went through all of r3compile's videos... please help this is the only thing thats keeping me from starting and tuning the evo 8 ecu in my g Thanks in advance

If you disable the imobilizer can you just get a new key cut and not have to program it?

I believe so. That's what the immobilizer stops. I know in Australia I need to have an aftermarket immobilizer that cuts power to everything else so that I can get insurance for it, so disabling the factory immobilizer wasn't a huge problem for me.
