Question about Cam/Crank sensor and the ECU.
Question about Cam/Crank sensor and the ECU.
This is more hardware related but I figured I'd ask here. Both the Cam and Crank sensors take 12v as power, the ECU has a pull up resistor to 5V of about 3.3k ohms. So I assume that the Cam and Crank sensors are pulling the these line to GND? Am I correct in that assumption?
When I try and feed this into the ECU I don't get anything registering. I may try inverting the signals or even changing the signal to match what I found in the service manual:

To answer my own questions:
1) Yes the Cam/Crank sensor are "open collector" type sensors, so they are pulling the ECU's pull'ed up pins to GND.
2) Log MUT A2, bits 1 and 4 are crank and cam sensor raw bits respectively. You should be able to see the signals toggle by taking the pins to GND.
3) The 2G DSM service manual has a more detailed diagram for the Crank/Cam timing than the EVO ones.
