p0125 is stuck to my car like glue
p0125 is stuck to my car like glue
Okay, so after I got my car back from SpecOps they told me I needed to get new spark wires because there was something wrong with it, I believe they said it was a bad coil. So I changed that and turned on the car, first thing I noticed driving on the highway was a Service Engine Light.
I was like, okay let me see what the code is.. Checked it at Advanced and it says p0125.
I look it up and it says:
Insufficient warm up time
Low engine coolant level
Leaking or stuck open thermostat
Faulty coolant temperature sensor
So I called SpecOps they said its probably a bad thermostat, so I ordered one and changed it out. The Service Engine Light was gone for about.. 20 mins then it came back. Same code, p0125.
So then I ask FastFreddie for advice, he says it could possibly be a bad temp sensor. He shipped both front and rear sensors to me. I changed those out Friday. Service Engine Light is still on.
It seems whenever I check the code it seems to make the idle choppy, stalling it or going below 1k rpms in idle.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be?

You should go back to Spec Ops. The sensor can be logged to verify if it is functional. If you want you can make sure the wires are ok to the ECU, but that could be a pain.
Too bad you don't have a Tactrix cable.
Your closed loop temp tables could be screwed up too.
Good Luck.

The code is basically saying that the coolant temp isn't getting warm enough to enter closed loop operation... why I thought it was the temp sensor... I looked at the car briefly, and figured it was a no brainer with that code... guess not... good luck Doodie
the probable cause is that your rear o2 CEL was turned off in a wrong way, via FAA bit 1.
it should be done via tephra's patch only, when you switch to tephra's rom and disable rear o2 via simulator your error will be gone. i'm 95% confident.

I have the same problem, I have tephramod V7 ROM with read o2 disabled for periphery FAA because my car is an Evo VI with Evo 8 ECU.
I can't delete the P0125 code:

I have another problem reads the coolant temp in evoscan, evoscan reads values too high, values of 235 ºF but the car feels good and no problems with excess of heat in the engine. The temp gauge on the dash is always normal.

HELP PLEASE SOME EXPERT!!!!!

well an old school trick to see what the coolant temp is really reading, is to get one of those infrared temp guns, and point it on the radiator hoses, thatll give you a pretty good indication of coolant temp... well since youve replaced these mods, have you tried resettin the battery, seems like a no brainer but sometimes it helps. have you had any coolant leaks by chance?? just tryin to help.

Reading the coolant temp scaled the fan is on in exactly 217 ºF and when drops to 208 ºF the fan is off, always varies at that temperatures.
