I bought the openecu cable 1.3 and installed ecuflash.
Im trying to disable my immoblizer for remote start purpose. i already have the remote start installed i just need to disable the immoblizer for the car to start VIA remote
I remember seeing a thread on this but i cant find it anymore.....

 

if you download your rom, you can open and edit it.

the very bottom section should contain the immobilizer disable option... i forgot the category, maybe peripherals?

its NOT necessary to disable the immob. just to have a remote start!
I dont have the info on what to do, but Im running a remote start alarm, and immob. is still active...

i have viper remote start installed already. but the car wont start since the immob is preventing the car from starting without the key inside.
how did you get your remote start to work with immob still active??

 

not sure you can do all this in a mac, I couldn't on my latest Air with Lion!

best bet is to run a parallel...

although, were you able to read your rom from your mac? am I missing a huge breakthrough?

 

bnr34rb26dett, is your question now that you can't import your rom to view it to change the immobilizer? If so go into evoscan, go to rommedata, read templates folder and than take the read template for read_evo7 (for an 8) read_evo9 (for a 9) and put it in the evo folder under mitsubishi. Now when you plug your tatrix cable in you will get a list of roms you can import click on your car and read the rom and your set.

And when you can read it make sure you do as tscompusa said and youll be set with disabling the immobilizer.

My starter works fine with the immobilizer as well. I had a similar problem at first I tried everything but than it turned out my compustar starter had a built in turbo timer and for some wouldn't work with my HKS turbo timer I unplugged it and it worked fine. Sorry I can't be much more help but I'd check that out or the wire attached to your e brake line that allows for the starter to work when e brake is engaged.

 

is evo scan necessary? i tried reading the rom with just the open ecu program and which car to choose (the list) did come up. its only after that that it gives me the error


i have HKS turbo timer as well. my car tries to crank. should i try remote start with the TT off? my car tries to crank with the remote start but no spark is this what you were getting?

 

Let me know when you get back and I can disable it for you sir.. You need the tephra V7 definitions to read your .hex since you have a tephra modded rom in your car. If you want I can set that up for you at the same time.
