Anyone seen this before?

Hey guys,

Related to the flashing issue I had that I posted up earlier here ----> https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ec...sm-h8-ecu.html

Are these pics of the PCB normal? Looks like its got a thick film of something spilled over it, although could be a gel type coating I guess.
Definately some corrosion underneath though.

Anyone seen this before?

Seen a couple of boards like this, maybe just got a little hot. If you can read and flash to it from the method I posted in your other thread then maybe ok. Memmodel should be set to just F and not FA as it's a 7202 chip.

Normal, its just a conformal coating to protect the tracks and components from oxidisation.
It was used a lot on industrial PCBs in the '70s, '80s and '90s, not so much nowadays.
I guess nobody expects electronics to last now.
You have to clean it of anywhere a component needs replacing.
