Timing Dippin down low

Here is the background:

Evo 9

Was bone stock so we gave it full bolt ons and cosy 272 cams with the springs and the works!

Tuned it and the car ran awesome... until the WG took a dump!

Got a forge wg and we were back in business! while i was tuning, noticed that between the 3000 - 4000 rpm my timing dips down to like -3 -2 then 0 and then back to what i have in my timing table. If you are thinking oh hey, knock.. there isnt any.

what have i done to fix this problem?

Confirmed timing marks on cam gears and down. Boost Leak tested it... nothing is wrong. The car runs awesome and there is nothing that looks mechanically wrong.

i need all the ideas i can get on this...

Thanks!!

One of two things are happening, number one, it's perfectly normal and hitting negative timing within the timing maps. Number two, your air intake temperature tables are adjusting the timing up to -3° from what is program in the cells

First off you should data log your air intake temperature and see if they're within the range to be reducing timing

Disable FAA bit 10 and timing dipping under 4000rpm disappears.

^ i will give that a shot as well. Thank you for that.

Do you have cam gears?

I have an HKS 272/280* combo and i was getting similar symptoms until i took out some of the overlap by advancing the exhaust cam 3* and retarding the intake 2*. (not saying those settings will work for you)
