lots of random DTCs...any suggestions?
lots of random DTCs...any suggestions?
Set a friend of mine up with SD last summer. 9417 on a '03 evo. Car ran fine all last year. He stored it over the winter. Now its throwing codes left and right. Im having a hard time believing these codes are real. We are getting knock sensor, baro sensor, egr, fuel pump relay, ign coil. Some times it seems random and not the same list of DTCs. Does this sound like a wiring issue? We did find some evidence of mice on top of the fuel pump. But he says he cant fnd anything wrong with the wiring. We tried another ecu last night, same story. All SD related sensors seem to reporting believable values in logs. He was running avgas. We are trying to set him up on pump now that he's got a <25psi WG spring in it. Car has stock bottom end, hks 272s, hx35, okada coils (was doing the same with his old cop), inj, piping/intercooler.
I will admit I dont fully trust who ever has been wrenching on the car. I try to help him out, but it does seem like he gets help from other people that sometimes dont do things right.
Appologize if this has been covered. But its very hard to search for...keep getting lots of p0300 threads.
any suggestions are appreciated.
thanks
Charlie

vss and inj circuit came up also.
It takes a while to trigger the CEL. But as soon as the DTCs are cleared, they come up almost immediately if you recheck in evoscan, but still no CEL. If left alone, the CEL comes back.
Any insight to exactly where the major grounds are? Behind intake, by the battery, somewhere close to the ecu?
I really wish we could just go through the whole setup. I hate working behind someone and not knowing how certain things were installed. Definitely a few things that stand out and need to be addressed. But he doesnt have the time and I dont want his car taking up a 1/3rd of my garage all summer. I need the space for my own projects.
