Evo 9 very reluctant to change

Hi, I have this battle between my car and ecuflash. I tell it to run 11.5AFR and it doesn't I have to tweak the Maps beyond what I should to reach desired AFR. There is change but it isn't happening unless I get aggressive. What gives?

It is very important to note that the numbers in the load cells of the fuel map are NOT actual AFR numbers that you will log with a WBO2. Under no condition should you enter the AFR that you logged with your wideband into the fuel map. They are just numbers. The higher the number, the leaner the AFR, and the lower the number the richer the AFR.
Give this a read and it will give you some good info to start with:

I understand how to tune and how to flash Jamie but thank you so much. Re-read the thread please.

Well, first, you don't 'tell' the ECU to run a desired AFR. You have to 'tune' it for a desired AFR. You didn't specify where in the powerband the AFR seems to not be changing with changes to the fuel map. What do you consider DRASTIC changes? Is lean spool enabled or disabled?

AFR values in the fuel map are not really "AFR" they are a visual representation of IPW

I think he's just not seeing change with his fueling proportionate to his adjustments. Not the actual value not matching but the ability to get to a value is crappy. That is how I read it

Yeah, that's what I gathered to second time around. Still waiting for his replies to my follow-up questions though.

Jamie and 211ratsbud you guys are exactly right. Sorry it took me a bit to get back to this. I'm getting changes to my actual AFRs but it's just taking serious tweaks. Lean spool is enabled btw.

Basically she is running too rich and ECUFLash or the ECU is being a PITA.

211ratsbud, you at Ft. Drum?
