Look in your rom at around address 1188.
Find the following string:

0023 0014 0013

The Decel Delay timer is 0014 on stock Evo9s, and is generally at address 1188.

The scaling is x*25 mSec, so 0014 gives 500mSec decel fuel cut delay.
Reducing it down to 150 - 200 mSec gives a good result.

Reducing it too much can make the car jerky at light throttle.

Thanks Merlin for your reply,
But the method you gave is a little bit toooo complicated for me
I tried to use an hex editor but ....
Is there a way to integrate it into ecuflash in order for me to be able to do it and understand what I'm doing.

Thanks for your understanding and help.

Since the file size exceeds 100 Kb, below is the link to download it:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B43...it?usp=sharing
It's the Tephra 5.5 for 88840017.

And a BIG THANKS in advance

Add this to your xml

<scaling name="Time16mSec" units="mSec" toexpr="x*25" frexpr="x/25" format="%.0f" min="0" max="6375" inc="25" storagetype="uint16" endian="big"/>

<table name="Fuel-Cut, Decel Delay Timer" address="1188" category="Fuel-Cut Control" type="2D" scaling="Time16mSec">
<table name="Time" type="Static Y Axis" elements="1">
<data>Fuel-Cut, Decel Delay Timer</data>
</table>
</table>

Thanks, merlin.oz

So for 94170715,

0x1588 is the address for this 500ms fuel cut delay timer?

Also you mentioned rapid fuel-cut rpm decision @ 0x1599 back in 2012,

so if it is over this rpm (stock value you said was 4000rpm),

the fuel cut delay timer is ignored and they cut the fuel right away? Or it has to be over this rpm to get this delay timer in play?

Hope you can explain a little bit more about this.

Thank you!

ace, the address you mention look right.

I forget the details, but I think your description is correct.
Its also possible that these are legacy parameters in some roms and may not be active.
Test and report back please.

Thank you for your reply.

I will first try the fuel cut delay timer and report back.

I would also like to play with fuel resume rpm setting table, but it does not seem to be used, because stock setting is 828 rpm at 180F,

but from what I see when driving, it resumes fuel right above 1000rpm.

Please advise me if you know if the actual fuel resume rpm table is found yet.

Thank you again!

The Fuel-Cut Fuel Resume table is at 35F4, 8 elements, Coolant Temp axis at 5c60.

The typical value at 82*C is 1000 rpm for an evo, 2188 rpm at 20*C.

I thought the address was not right, but I set it with wrong scaling!

Found the map, and it looks good!

Thank you so much!

Yes, for cammy engines I sometimes set the 82*C value higher, maybe 1200 to 1500 rpm.

Also, I recommend not setting the decel fuel cut delay shorter than 250mSec, it can make low speed and car-park driving pretty sketchy.

Thanks for the tip!

As 850rpm idle target stock is using 1000rpm fuel resume rpm, I will be using 1150~1200rpm fuel resume for my 1000 rpm idle target with Tomei 270 cams.

I will first try 250ms fuel cut delay time and report back.

Not sure how this can help with the infamous rpm dipping after hard intake pipe w/ MAF system, but I hope it will be better after some playing with the values.

Thanks for the help! I will report back.

Try messing with the MAF Sensor Filter Gain parameters:

Air-Flow Filter Gain, Idle @ 1508, = 00C0

Air-Flow Filter Gain, Off Idle @ 150A, = 00D9

I dont know if you need to go larger or smaller though.
