SD Kit and SD rom selection

Hi Friends,

Parts have arrived from USA, FIC 2150s , SKunk2 Pro, and STM SD kit> omni 4 bar and aem gm style iat sensor.

I have 2 cars which i want to convert to SD.

One is a JDM evo 8 which didnt come with a factory map sensor.

Other is a JDM evo 7 which came with a factory map sensor.

QUESTIONS..

1. Is the wiring procedure for map sensor is same for both ?

2. can i use Phenems sd rom 96531706 on both 7 n 8 ? I wanted to use 3d ve roms but i read those roms have bugs in them so ill instead prefer the 2d type.

3. Can anyone please send the correct codes to log omni 4 bar kpa , boost and iat ?

Please guide..

Not sure which omni 4-bar you bought. If it is the OEM style then for the 7 you will just need to switch out the sensor. For the Evo8 you will have to change the intake manifold for a 7,9 or usdm 8 manifold or change the sensor for the GM style 4 bar that is more versatile.

For both I normally wire the IAT to the existing IAT sensor wire on the MAF and for the 8 I normally wire the MAP signal to the Baro wire on the MAF however you will then need to switch the pin at the ECU from the baro location to the MAP location (there will be a blank space in the plug) . Google the write up as to how to de-pin/re-pin if you haven't done it before.

Spoolinup sells plug and play harnesses for connecting these sensors to the MAF plug if you don't wish to splice wiring.

Hope this helps.

The 96531706 will work for both cars.

BTW there seems to be an error in the sheet from FIC. The two injector offset tables are not quite in agreement.

Omni 4 bar logging formula is 1.63358*x

Evoscan is already setup to log IAT at I believe MAF Airtemp scaled.

The scaling I posted is for kPa absolute. If you term it as MAP (manifold absolute pressure) it should be absolute pressure and not gauge pressure. The multiplier in your scaling is slightly different to mine for whatever reason but you shouldn't be subtracting anything for absolute pressure.

Your PSI scaling is correct for gauge pressure.

As you have it set the kPa logging will show in units of PSI instead of kPa.

Sorry to take this off topic but i feel it is related..

Kpa to load table - 1:1 ratio in this table means if i am hitting 200 load means i am hitting 200 kpa means 1 bar of positive pressure regardless of what injector scaling is ?

Yes, except that the rpm ve table also has an effect. RPM VE must also be 100 for kPa to equal to load.

I am going to connect the GM IAT as per your suggested pin.
MAF air temp scaled request id is 11 but the Unit is in C while the IAT scaling for Temp in 9653 is in Fahrenheit -- What to do ?

Which option should i select out of these two ?

Doesn't matter. It's the same voltage that gets applied to the ECU input pin. The scaling in deg F or deg C is just a convenience for you and me to read.

Update *

Thanks to almighty GOD. Car converted to SD fired up right away using 90556701 which by default uses temp scale C for IAT.

After cruising around it was obvious the difference between MAF and SD is huge.
Silky smooth drive.
