Red face Can I get the permissions while flashing?

So i finally after awhile decided to start messing around with me 2014 evox gsr, with only 18k miles.

I purchased a 2010 gsr ecu from a friend and paid the dealer 5$ to flash my Vin on it.
The car starts and runs with that ECU but its quite different based on the XML data.
Planned on buying the v3 from Mr T.

I want to Flash over all permission protection on the 2010 ecu with my 2014 gsr base rom.

protected memory areas
Error
"the image you are trying to flash contains changes to protected areas! exiting."

I thought the TephraXMOD Reg Fix for using EcuFlash 1.44.4xxx.
This
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OpenECU\EcuFlash\flashi ng\mitsubishi]
"protect low memory areas"="false"
Still fails to flash.
I know unless there is built in software that's unable to be flashed that both ECU's are identical other then the stored Rom data.

Bold n Simple
Flash 2014 evox gsr Oem rom-----> To ----> 2010 Ecu evox gsr oem ecu

Can it be done?

2010/2014 have different components. You can't go back from what I understand without completely revamping the entire ECU.

You have to bench flash it when you change the year of the rom. The reg fix is for other areas, but for year changes you need to bench

I'm not just trying to change the year of the ECU that could be done by a simple flash I'm attempting to make a 2010 (GSR 5speed) ecu an identical copy of my OEM 2014 (gsr 5speed) Ecu. hopefully that is better said.

the newest Ecuflash has the option for alternative flash method isn't this identical to bench flashing now?

I understand what you're trying to do, I still believe that you need to bench flash it due to how much is being changed, since the obd2 port is not a direct link to the ECU like bench is
