Hey everyone *Im a noob so mind my stupidness of ECUflash*
So I was playing with ECUFlash, and looking on the forums and was wondering if it was possible to achieve nice sounding pops and bangs, but not to overly aggressive (something like a cooper S or focus RS pops) I've seen people run -10 to -15 degrees of timing in load columns 0-20. I decided to run -5 degrees in those columns, not sure if thats not enough or needs to be increased to actually have some nice pops. Also, has anyone had knock occur with a map like this? Heres my high octane ignition map, if anyone could help me, that would be great, thanks.
Every car is different!
What works for one won’t for another.
-5 is usually only enough to create a burble.
to get whip cracks or louder I would start at -10.
i run -20 btw 😎
Yea I set mine to -10 and im getting some nice pops, but afterwhile gives me a little headache haha. Wow, have you had any problems with pulling so much timing?

none at all and been running it for over 4 years.
My cast manifold is ported and all the bangs happen in there so no exhaust gasket issues or any valve issues.
As long as fueling/map is good, should get no knock.
I've heard lots of pops and bangs from evos using anti lag. Racers inject air (for oxygen) in exhaust manifold to burn the fuel after they exit the head. This causes an addition combustion in manifold to spin the turbo during launch control and in between shifts. Pops and bangs go out tail pipe if using test pipe.

this is not anti lag we are discussing.
With fueling and mapping you can stop fuel gettting into your “test pipe”, and limit it to the manifold.
I have it set currently from 3500rpm to 6500rpm.
Again depends on map which load is best.
since I’ve run bigger cams and more HP, my load range on decel is from 30-100.
I’ve spent a lot of time fine tuning so it doesn’t affect part throttle driving, which the naysayers who know little about mapping will tell you your car will be horrible to drive when cruising.
Not always the case.
Sorry for bringing up and old thread, but i'm in the middle of trying to achieve a few crackles and pops in my 7. I have changed the timing i have pulled timing to -20 between 2000 and 7500 rpm from 0-30% load as this is what i have seen others do but i have not been able to achieve anything, did you have to play around with your decel fuel cut at all in order to get the pops and crackle?
Hi dude i was wondering how u guys do the pops and bangs with flame? To be honest i’m newbie here i have evo x gsr 2012 and i really want those! I don’t know what and how to start to do it i really need your help thank you in advance u can email here too markmeneses_28@yahoo.com
