Does any one know of a method to dump rom contents on a ecu via a hardware method (eeprom programmer or ISP serial programmer) ?

I have an ecu that I cant read the rom from using the bootloader kernel method with ecuflash.
I could possibly use the official hitachi f-ztat rs232c serial ISP but finding these tools these days might be hard, I was hoping I may be able to read the ECU with my minipro programmer via a standard eeprom read method.
