Reflash to stock

I am from CA and my 03 currently has a dual map setup. I have a tactrix cable and will purchase ecu flash/Evoscan to flash a stock rom back on. Other than copying my immobilizer, is there anything I need to do since it’s dual map? Or does reflashing the rom “reset” the entire tune to stock?

The calibration ID in the ecu is going to be different unless you have the original tune file for your ecu. Had a few people get flagged for ecu tampering with just a stock ROM reflash.

I just did a stock reflash on my cousins 06 MR and just passed smog today. I bought my car tuned so no stock flash. Mitsubishi wants $350 for a stock reflash.

my ecu is part number:MN132874

I’ve looked on the ecu wiki and have seen a few different ROMs for 8’s. Which one is it?

This is flat-out incorrect information. Make sure you have the most current rom ID for your car/model and you will be good. It does NOT need to be the actual original ROM direct from your ECU.

Proven 50+ times.

To be clear, you do NOT need the original flash that your car came with if you have kept your immobilizer code. The problem is many tuners don't keep your immobilizer code.

If you upload the most current rom ID and then edit the immobilizer code to your unique keys code, the CAL IDs/CVNs will match up, the engine will start, and you will pass. If you upload the most current rom ID and don't have your immobilizer code, then the engine will not start and you can't do anything. If you upload the most current rom ID and disable the immobilizer code in the tune by flipping the periphery bit, your engine will start but the car will not pass because that part of the tune changes the CAL ID or CVN. I forget which.

Judging by other posts I'm reading, that is a STEAL. I'd do that and be done with it.
I'm looking to have mine done since my tuner didn't save my immobilizer code. Bleh.

Not when you look at the 06 Service bulletin and it says its a .3 warranty job. If its .3 there, I'd expect an hour or less to do the job.

That may be but people are posting insane dealership quotes.
