So, I'm a little stumped. I've been tuning my Evo on SD (tephra v7 965 ROM) for years and never had this issue, which I'm running into on my new turbo setup. When hitting boost of 28 psi or so, the 1 Byte load logged by EvoScan is dropping to single digits from the upper 300s. I believe it should indicate about 380-390 load, as it does in the surrounding samples. It doesn't do this if I drop boost a couple PSI. Fuel cut is set at 420 load, so I'm not hitting that. The strange thing is that the timing and fueling is normal even when the logged load is dropping (see log), so this may be a logging issue and the ECU is actually hitting the correct load? Any thoughts?
You might need to adjust your Tephra "2byte to 1 byte load factor". Try increasing it a bit, and don't forget to adjust the logging formula too.
Ahh...my multiplier is currently 1.5x. 1.5 times 255 = 382. That's exactly where I'm landing at 28 psi. So, I think you are probably correct.
It's been so long since I studied all of this. If I increase that multiplier, am I reducing the resolution of load that that the ECU sees? What's the downside of setting it up with lots of "headroom?
