Ecuflash-
Hey guys, hoping to get some help here. I have gone thru numerous threads, merlins ecuflash turtorials, ecu unlocker, hex editor. All zero luck while trying all the different ways. I have a 1.3u cable, ecuflash, evoscan, tephra v7 files, all the xml files in the rommetadata under the evo section. "Tephramod - 94170715 along with the mods.bin file".

Car details, usdm 2005 lancer evo 8 ssl. It was tuned by the po and I can't for the life of me get the rom id even after utilizing all the steps above. I get the generic unknown rom id, I save the file and upload it to hex editor and can't find f52 that a different thread mentioned where the rom id would be. I also tried ecu unlocker and I got nothing.. I'm very familiar with dsmlink, holley, aem standalone but this factory ecuflash is being a pain.. any thoughts guys?

 

You'd saved it as a .srf file which sticks a bunch of extra data on the front of the file. Save it as either a .hex or .bin in ECUFlash to avoid this.

After stripping that off, it looks like 96531706 (from F52)......attached!

 

What an easy step overlooked. I feel so dumb! Thank you for the help, i will copy this hex file along with the tephra mod file into the rom directory and modify the "0706" to a "1706" in the title and in the xml file per a different sticky. I think i also need to modify the immobilizer number as well since its a 2005, to 0x0058. Anything else i may be missing?
