Ruining in open loop for idle??

Is it possible to have the car in open loop full time while idling with a reflash. I mean being able to make the car run what is on the fuel map while the car is idling. Even after the car warms up.

yeah set the open loop load and open loop throttle to 10% and voila, open loop at any rpm is possible.

There are two open loop load tables and two open loop throttle. Whats the difference between them. Ths scale of Open Loop Load is on % and Open Loop Throttle is in Volts.

Are you sure it needs a 10 on the Open Loop Throttle????

I dropped mine all to zero (load and throttle, #1 and #2). Going to test it out this weekend.

Did this work? Setting it all to zero?

On the 3rd gen eclipse forum, one of the guys was saying that since its in LOAD, he changed it to throttle position.

However, I don't see throttle position as something you can change the value to; I only see Throttle Voltage, but I guess you can do it a number of ways to get it to go to open loop.

Edit: Turns out he mean Throttle Voltage.

I'm running the 96530006 rom, and there's a table for open loop load and open loop throttle. I set my loads to 0, and it seems to have worked but I only have one log to check from it and I still haven't gone over it completely. My throttle table is all 0s, but I'm not sure if it started that way or changing the load table changes it too (I never looked at that table til you posted and I just opened my rom to check).

I did notice a distinct difference in low load cruise and idle AFRs just from driving and eyeballing the gauge, so I think it worked from what I've checked out so far. {thumbup}

Wild guess says that throttle voltage is like our TPS.

Wouldn't it be easier to just set the periphery (FAA) bit 4 to 0? That would force open loop all the time regardless of rpm or load.

Ha, that would make things a hell of a lot easier. Thanks for the info! Someone mentioned setting the periphery on the other forum but he wasn't sure which one and what to set it to. Thanks again though.

I am looking for open loop only while idling not for cruising.

I don't think you can do that without a custom patch since the settings are only for min values before going to open loop, and there's no open/closed loop window to idle and wot in open but cruise in closed.

just a question here. by forcing the car in open loop 24/7 do you still need to scale injectors? since the car will be reading for the table for the desired AFR?

Yes...

The extra fuel problem is only going to get worse with higher load and rpm you're just doing ALOT more work by not scaling the injectors.
