So I'm trying to disable my rear 02 sensor (Since thats where my wideband is)

And I see one of the threads that its Bit16 in FEA on the periphery table. I only have up to Bit15.......am I missing something. I'd like to clear my CEL (injector clip got loose while driving so thats was the other codes I got).

periphery bits, check out the thread on here and on evo wiki (search in google)

I believe its bit15 not 16.

I used the instructions from this thread:

I was thinking about doing the same thing (replacing the read O2 sensor with the wideband). Are there any negative side effects to not having a read O2 sensor strictly from a performance point of view?

If you are running v7 the following post should get you pointed in the right direction.

bump for which bit it is

Just use the acumus/mfred patches. I literally just did this yesterday and they work perfectly, and took all of 20 min including all the ROM patching and taking out and plugging the O2 sensor bung. Pretty straight foward.

faa bit 1 disables rear o2
fea bit 15 disables the cel

Are you saying we no longer need to edit the XML?

I edited the code adding the recommended lines then adjusted the values to 0.

My faa bit 1 and fea bit 15 are still listed as 1 or on.

I used the method above and worked perfect. the resistors cost maybe 1.99$ at radio shack. made it very simple for me since im not that good with the bits and code

SmurfZilla Mar 23, 2010 05:13 AM

I was the opposite....resistors and soldering are not my friend...I'd much rather change a setting on a computer.....way easier.
