You really don't the resolution to be crazy high above 300 load and 6000 RPM. That's what interpolation is for and motor dynamics at WOT don't change that abruptly. Below those points, the stock scaling is pretty good.

Most people will probably just tune their highest load column then interpolate over to lower load stuff anyway. Or they will make it all the same. How many people truly tune their car at every load and RPM site? 5%?

If it means keeping livemap working with some future capabilities by not using up all the memory, 25x29 is plenty IMO.

phenem Oct 5, 2009 05:07 AM

Tephra,

What's up with the other vote! You always have to be the devil's advocate don't you! {thumbup}

tephra Oct 5, 2009 05:13 AM

lol...

i didn't want to sway the votes so I went other :D

Jack_of_Trades Oct 5, 2009 06:39 AM

I'm personally happy with any of those 3 options but I wouldn't mind having MORE resolution at my disposal in case I need it one day, rather than not enough.

I agree with this statment.

I will be more than happy with anything tephra is willing to do, but if I have a choice, I would like as much resolution as possible.

All the above is fine with me but more is always better.

bas_evo Oct 5, 2009 11:26 AM

25 x 29 will do it for me

tephra Oct 5, 2009 04:28 PM

I can live with that {thumbup} So which Evo 8 and Evo 9 ROM's are you planning to implement the BigMaps in? The only Evo 8 Roms I think need any attention are 94170015 and 96530006.

Do the dual-solenoid VIII guys across the pond need a version as well? (I don't recall the ROM ID off the top of my head, 9266xxxx or similar?)

Yeah Tephra makes a ROM specific for the dual-solenoid guys as well.

tephra Oct 5, 2009 06:43 PM

96260009 is the dual solenoid... i am happy for 94170015 guys to try that ROMID as well..

i don't plan todo a 94170015 - since really the problems in the other thread are the first time ive heard about it.

Yeah but it's not a show stopper though, the decel issue is apparent from the factory on all 2005 8's and all 9's. So when the 03/04 guys flash the 05 map the decel issue is apparent. So it is def. something in the tune we just need to find the map associated with the issue by comparing the data between the two. Prob. something with emissions if I had to take a guess.

tephra Oct 5, 2009 07:40 PM

well all i know is this was discussed ages ago.... so i would be suprised if that fix didn't fix this issue too??

cossie1 Oct 6, 2009 12:31 AM

please don't forget about 90550001, as there are a few of us using that rom with strokers and gt35's :D

Evo_Jay Oct 6, 2009 01:02 AM

Can we get one 03-04 ROM like

94170015 or 96420008/11

please...

tephra Oct 6, 2009 01:35 AM

wanna try 96260009? u will have to disable the 2nd solenoid thou...

yup cossie :)

JohnBradley Oct 6, 2009 08:19 AM

Have to swap everything to a new ROM anyway, doesnt make much difference to me. Dave on a sidenote the software is WinOLS that I forgot to tag in that email.

rdtech Oct 6, 2009 09:33 AM
