*FIXED*Strange TPS related cut problem. Tephra ROMs
4 Attachment(s)
Hi all,
I have a 2001 EVO VII JDM GSR which originally ran the 98640014 stock rom, with this rom i am able to accelerate at WOT to redline with no hassels, as expected. I have downloaded the Tephra v5.10 90550001 rom and payed for the V7 rom as well. With those two maps i have a problem where if i accelerate at WOT i get this strange cut, and the car bucks back and forth. I have done some logging last night on the stock rom and the Tephra V7 rom. The results can be found below: I am leaning toward increasing the fuel cut load x1 values to try and get around this problem. Does this sound like a solution or am i off track? I am only new to this and trying to learn as fast as i can. I have found this forum very informative. Thanks, Acea |

I have just completed logging several WOT runs back to back. I changed the fuel cut load x1 parameters and nothing changed. All i can tell is that it does not happen until the 3000rpm mark or over. I accelerated past 3000rpm with the TPS not at 100% and then pushed the accelerator to the floor, the problem occured at whatever RPM i was at when the pedal hit the floor.
This has me stumped, i have gone over the new log and nothing seems the same when it happens, other than it occuring around 3000rpm for most runs. Any ideas? |

Any ideas yet? I've run into a similar issue while testing Tephra today on a 2004 Evo VIII. 6.5K RPM and I'm hitting a wall.

I find it hard to believe that no one knows whats going on. Surely someone has a clue as to what is happening and how to fix it. I have become annoyed with the two affected ROMs and switched back to the stock ROM for the time being, I added in some boost and took away some timing, that will keep me busy for now or until i can shed some further light on the problem. Sorry i can't be of help. |
You're dragging your foot on your clutch pedal ever so slightly and engaing NLTS. Either disable it or raise your left foot.
It happens a lot to me too, FYI... |
you don't have valet enabled do you? for 3000rpm? and its not disengaging correctly, just wondering if you raise the rpm level
