Asus Eee issues

I just picked up this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1213046768451 Eee pc at my local best buy and i'm having problems getting evoscan to work.

I'm using 2.4 and the problem is when it goes to waiting for INIT response it will restart trying to connect over and over.
It never says anything about the link being engaged but when you stop it it says link disengaged.

I've only used it with vista not yet with xp so I'm not sure if there's something different I need to do.

Like the x86 drivers are the right ones for xp?
Or, I don't know.
I'm lost.
This little computer sure is cool though, it has a 8.9 inch monitor instead of the 7 just barely fits in the glove still.

Anyone have any ideas?

Any idea how I can find it?
I've only used it since 2.3 so I don't have anything older than that.

Did you have to do anything special to get .99 to work?
Or any tricks when installing or setting it up?

For what it's worth, I'm using Evoscan 2.4 on a new vista laptop (not Eee though). Everything seems to work fine.

Another question I hope someone has an answer for.
When i'm installing the drivers for the Tactrix cable it says they have not passed xp testing or something to that effect and it says it may mess things up.
Is there different drivers I should use or is this ok?
Thanks for the help so far guys.

I'll try again soon and see what happens.
I tried using .99 when I still had 2.4 installed and I got the same problem.

This time it'll be a clean slate with just .99, we'll see what happens.

Okay so I have .99 installed.
I'm using the cable drivers from 2.4 I didn't see any with .99, did i do something wrong here?

Here's what it says when I get it connected and try to log.

Info: Initalizing At 5 baud...
Info: Initalization complete...
Info: Waiting for INIT resopnse...
Info: AutoReconnect Retry #1

And so on.
Anyone have any clue?

I have yet to get this computer to do what I bought it for.
I need help.

If the cable works fine with your other laptop I think you have a driver issue on the new one.

I would deinstall the drivers, restart, then plug the cable in and let it ask to install the drivers and do so.

Am I alright using the ones from the 2.4 evoscan?
Or is there some others?

I'll try that as soon as I make sure i'm using the right drivers.
I've already mentioned the xp testing warning.
