Adjustable Cam pulleys, worth it?
Adjustable pulleys, worth it?
Wondered if paying out for adjustable pulleys are worth it if you can change the timing in ECUFlash. I understand the effects of Adjustable pulleys. But wondered if they are worth it with the amount you can adjust the timing in ECU flash. Still a noob to ECUFlash, so someone please tell me if adjusting the timing has different effects in ECUFlash to adjusting the timing on the camshaft pulleys
Thanks

Changing the timing and rotating an adjustable cam gear are two very different things. The MIVEC on the IX and X is much more similar to a constantly adjustable cam gear than timing is. They are totally different concepts.
Timing relates to when you fire the spark relative to TDC
Adjusting a cam gear changes when the valves open and close.
If you are on a stock turbo/cam setup it is unlikely that they are worth it to you. Essentially they are used to properly degree a cam, but are also used to shift the powerband on the car. In general, you can shift the powerband left and have less power up top, or right and have more power up top. Results are not necessarily proportional.
