Hi Everyone,

For all of those who have some problems with ECUFlash read and write for the AirTrek Turbo, I have had the opportunity to try out on two different AirTreks Turbos today.

The first AirTrek Turbo (Auto) was a JDM 2002-2003. To successfully Read and Write to ECU with ECUFlash, you'll firstly need a good definition file (.xml). Recommend that you contact GregM and get one off him. His definition is great and unlocks a whole bunch of stuff in your ECU. Second step, for these 2002-2003s, you'll need to check that the Flashmethod (in the ROM section of the .xml file) is set as "mitsukernel" and that the Memory Model is set as "SH7052". The read method you should select is "EVO 7-8".

The second AirTrek Turbo (Auto) I successfully read and wrote to ECU today was a JDM 2004-2005. For this year type, set the Flashmethod to "mitsukernelocp" and the Memory Model to "SH7055". The read method you need to use will be "EVO 9 / Eclipse AT".

If anyone encounters some other years or models of AirTreks, please feel free to post them here to share with others.

Thanks guys.

All airtreks I have flashed i have used the SH7055 method (Evo 7 GTA/EVo 9)

I have done 2001-2004s. In one scenario the connecters weren't making proper contact so i would check that.

But for me i've always modified the Evo 7 read method to make my own.

i have 2002 JDM and SH7055 is the only way to get the full read of the ROM.

I have been playing around with the Shift Maps today, I have adjusted the values to force the car to stay in gear longer under higher loads and not to change down so early.

Results so far are promising...

Hi, does anyone know the settings for the STI pink injectors?

Greg, I read in one of your posts that you had fitted them. I am just looking for a starting point.

I will be fitting the walbro pump, new manifold and TD04HL-19t next week. Just about to get measured for a new stainless front pipe, metal cat and centre pipe and I will be adding a wideband soon...

I'm about to change my 1100cc for some of the STI pinks again. I'll be maxing the pinks out, but the 1100cc deserve a better home in my evo.

The STI's I had set up last as :

Scaling 479

Latency
4.69 = 6.12
7.03 = 3.96
9.38 = 2.136
14.06 = 1.056
16.41 = 0.696
18.68 = 0.096

Thanks, the scaling seems low - I thought it would be around 525 as they flow 565 but it gives me somewhere to start.

Generally they aren't set that close. My 1100's are I think 979. I originally had the STI's at 504.

Yeah, I think you are right. Just reading Merlins Tuning guide and it should be initially divided by 1.15...

Just set up my 2nd set of STI Pink Injectors and have a scaling of 522 for this set, very different to the last.

I also had issues flashing for the first time. I always used a 1.3 cable, but when I got my Evo 5, I needed a 2.0, so sold the 1.3 and was going to use the 2.0 for both. The issue seems to be the 2.0 cable.

I am using the 2.0 for flashing. I did upgrade Ecuflash to the beta version which upgraded the drivers in the openport and i've had no problems.

Well just finished fitting a TD04HL-19T. Also fitted ss manifold, evo bov, ss intercooler pipes and apexi cone filter.

Took the car out and without a re-tune it hit 19.5 psi before the intercooler hose blew of!

It was previously tuned to 14psi.

I didn't intend to hit that level of boost...

Just changed the wgdc to reduce boost to something more realistic.

Btw, what's the stock boost of an Airtrek? Does the 19T produces any lag? How's the power like for the 19T?

Does anyone here have any experience in installing a 3-Port Boost Solenoid in an Airtrek?

stock boost is around 0.8 bar.

I have fitted a tactrix 3 port BCS, seems to work fine although I am having problems controlling boost withnthe new turbo.

Old turbo was boosting around 14psi with the 3 port and standard BOV. i suspect that the old BOV was leaking and that was what was controlling max boost!

The new turbo and evo BOV is boosting 20 psi before it blows the intercooler joiner off!

I have adjusted the WGDC down to zero, expecting that this would drop boost to 9psi as this is the wasegate actuator spring value but it over boosted again and blew off the intercooler pipe (the silicone joiner is too short)

So, I have looked at the tables and have drop boost desired engine load, boost limit, boost offset etc. back to stock as the baseline WGDC was being corrected by my BDEL+offset being too high (I think)

Anyway if this works and I can get boost down to 9psi I can tune it ack up to something reasonable.

The 19t shouldn't have any more lag, I think, as the turbine is the samevsize, only the compressor is bigger so it should flow more air at the same boost level with no more lag.

As soon as I have it sorted I will let you know...

Any possibility of you sharing with me your current HEX file?

I also have the 3port Tactrix boost solenoid but still figuring out what to edit in my HEX file to get it to work.

The EVO BOV is the stock standard EVO unit that comes with the car (recirculating) or is this an aftermarket unit?
