Question Cruises at 160 degrees

I have no idea why but my car cruises at 160ish degrees. I know the head is a JDM head with a smaller thermostat...Came with the car when i brought it. I brought and EVO 8 t-stat and it does not fit. My guess is this is a 160 thermostat. My question is how do I scale this in my Rom so the car doesn't think i am still warming up. I don't have the money to swap heads yet.

ROM ID 96530706

Thanks.

Edit your MAF Comp vs Coolant Temp #1 table around your thermostat.

How do I change the values? It goes from 122 to 170. I believe it's based on the maf temp scaled value so I would need to hit the 150ish mark.

Select the areas that are too high, for instance, 171, hit = and change it to like 147. Then change the next one to like 155.

Also....are there any ignition trims that are applied because of coolant temp. I see a couple of tables but not sure what exactly they mean:

Low Coolant Temp Timing Trim Map & Percent Low Temp Timing Trim vs Coolant Temp

Edit: I just 0 those out. Looks like its really only use to heat up the CAT which I dont have.

I don't have any pics. The 7/8/9 stat is bigger then the 6 stat. Everywhere I looked doesn't seem to have a 180 6 stat. Add to it i can't just swap out the housing as the heads are physically different as far as the lines go. It is easier for the moment to just do this instead of sourcing all those parts and coming out of pocket.

I advise you to not mess with the temperature "x" axis scale (122-171-180...) . You will change many maps doing that and some subfunctions accesible via periphery bits won't work like they're supposed to. The car is really made to run over 170F.

I dunno why I didn't think about that at first before I posted what I did. Good catch/call.

I made the change yesterday and drove home.....this is all before being told about the 9 stat. not sure if some are hidden but the ones it did change made sense. Did not see anything out of the ordinary.

I just ordered the 9 stat which is twice the price of the 8 for some weird reason. I will install it this weekend and and change this back. Car is parked and i am out of town at the moment.
