warmup ignition retard map

If you're using Tephra, under the global ignition settings there is a table named Percent Low Temp Timing Trim vs Coolant Temp. That table determines what percentage of the values in the Low Coolant Temp Timing Trim Map are interpolated with your regular ignition maps based on coolant temp.

I get you are talking about 'Low Coolant Temp Timing Trim Map' ?
either way it doesn't make sense for me, looking at timing trim vs coolant temp table, it says 0 in -32 - 7 degC. cells, so it doesn't interpolate at all when the engine is cold, shouldn't it be vice versa ? (I haven't touched anything, downloaded the rom from V7 thread from here)
and the scond question, I was talking about the map that's on the top - 'Ignition Unknown Map(Warm-up?)'
print screen windows xp

The "Low Coolant Temp Timing Trim" map, aka Spark Warmup Retard map, retards spark advance to 100% of said map between 20*C and 62*C.
There is linear interpolation at the low end (0% at 7*C to 100% at 20*C) and from 62*C back to 0% at 77*C.
It purpose is to get the CATs hot quickly, it affect is to make the car drive crappy when warming up. Zero in either the temp table or the map will negate this function.
The other spark map with the block of -5* is probably a warmup idle spark map. What rom is it from?

thanks for good explanation Merlin
that's 96530706 v7 rom
so as I've understand between 20-62C coolant temp car drives 100% on that zeored out and -15-13 map ?
I have rescaled main maps for better resolution, but it doesn't affect these maps
should I tweak them as well or leave them alone ?
p.s. I don't have cat at all

No, between 20 and 62 *C the ECU subtracts 100% of what is in the Spark Warmup Retard Map from the main Hi-Octane Spark Map.
Or to put it another way, the Hi-Octane Spark Map is reduced by whatever is in the Retard map. So 0 is do nothing, -13 is pull 13* from the Hi-Octane Spark map. Hence the crappy drive during warmup.
Note also the Warmup Retard load and rpm axis is the same as used in the Hi and Lo Octane Spark maps. ie common axis not just the same values. So re-scaling will affect the Warmup Retard map.
Not having a CAT has no affect on the maps operation.
