EVO 8 2004 ECM/ECU Replacement Question
EVO 8 2004 ECM/ECU Replacement Question
I could not find this on here, unless it is discussed hidden in a thread.
2004 EVO 8, possibly shot ECM/ECU. If I want a replacement that I do not have to disable the immobilizer, what can I do?
Will any of the 3 years work? Meaning I will be able to maintain the factory immobilizer circuit? Or must you disable it once you plug it in? Or utilizing the old periphery bits within ECUFlash, can I set the replacement to the proper settings and have the immobilizer circuit enabled?
Will another 2004 EVO8 Ecu work, since the immobilizer hex key is the same for all the 2004's?
Can someone square me away?
Goal is to repair/replace and maintain all features from factory in this respect.
Thank you.

should work, all you need to be aware is that there are a few different version of the evo8 ecu, some with 3 plugs some with 4..
or maybe that's evo7, either way, your best bet is to get one thats the same part number...
