Nurburgring!! What fun it was..

I just had the best time at Nurburgring(The Ring), Germany.. It was my first and I had a blast. I didnt take my car around the track, but I met up with a friend with an 03 Evo and he definitely tore it up. I wish they had these types of events in the states that were as available and easy to use as here. Their laws make it so much easier to get in your car and roll.

There was a bit of moisture, snow and ice on the track, but that didn't stop anyone from going out there and tearing it up.

I just wanted to share my little experience and get some feedback on if there are other tracks like this in Germany or Europe, and if anyone else has run the Ring..

thanks all and God Bless America!!

evotec... that was the friend I was boasting about.. He has run that track many times before.. that was the last run of the day last week.. There's a whole thread on it. That girl is toast. I hate it for him... I was supposed to attend but had to cancel at the last minute.. **** happens to the best of 'em.

And I heard about Bitburg.. I think I need ot chekc that out too.. I'm around Stuttgart and the ring, of course, is 2 1/2 hours away form me, so that seems to be the next visit.

If your 2 1/2hrs away from the Ring SPA is out of the question. Its right down the road from me. I don't know what part of the military your in but Hockenhiem is in Manhiem. I personally havent been to that one but its next on my list. Me and couple of guys are heading down to the Ring here soon. Soon as I find out I'll let you know and if you want to roll let me know.

JKim2001, yeah I finally got thru, but it was murder... First I made my own plug for the Buschur exhaust, they said it was still too loud.. then I purchased a Hi Flow cat. Much better, but he still wouldn't give it a go... so lastly I swaped out the buschur muffler for a honda mock job... that definitely fixed it.. I still haven't received my shipment of HHG's so I didn't have my stocker, or I would have put it on... If you have the time, then I would suggest putting the Stock exhaust(CATBACK at least) back on to get thru.. Then swap it back... It will make the process go by a whole lot easier.. Anyway, God Speed and happy travels.

Its all good. I'll actually be in Landsthul on Monday/Tuesday. My Evo is in the shop right now getting some work done to it. No mods, just some maintenance I'm too lazy to do. Soon as my Evo gets back and I get a date I'll definitely give you a shout.

Last question, do they do a sniffer test on your car? i might be running a test pipe so just wondering if they look into stuff like that or frown upon BOV/intakes. Also, car will be lowred. Any prob with that? Thanks and 3 more months!!!

jkim2001 - I have all those mods and then some..like I said earlier, a test pipe will defintely make it too loud, but they weren't too concerenced that I didn't have a test pipe.. That, or they didn't notice.. I wasn't going to give them any info..As for lowering, It depends on the drop.. If its noticeably lower, then they may hassle you, but an inch won't hurt you... hope that answers your question.. Also, do you know where you're going???

hey, thanks for the info. I will be getting the test pipe with my helix exhaust...I will have a silncer so it will sound stealth. I will be getting coilovers as well so I will try to make it drop as little as possible. I will be at ramstein this august. where are you? PM me your number so that i can call you when i am in country. I will also try to track at the Nurb...but will be careful and not end up like Evotec. Can't wait....

I wouldn't worry about the Ring. My first time on a track of any kind was at the Ring. The hardest part was just getting on the track. Its nothing like trackdays in the states.

The best advice that I can give is just all common sense. I cannot stress brakes enough. If you plan on doing more than one lap in oneday I highly suggest taking the 30-45min to bleed your brakes. And if your pads and rotors are in good shape I would properly re-bed them. It will make a WORLD of a difference. Check all your fluids, mainly coolant. Make sure all lugs are properly torqued. And last but not least STAY to the right and check your mirrors. Its nothing to get passed by something as little as an Austin Mini or a fully race preped Viper.

I've done a total of only 6laps, and just this last time was I able to keep up with some of the regulars. Relax and Have fun.

My Evo has suddenly sprung a mysterious boost leak. But I'm still up for whatever at the Ring.
